I’ve posted different posts about bird coloring pages. Here are some more bird-related coloring pages; this time the owl is featured through 20+ cute owl coloring printables. To make it more interesting, I often talk or show my kids a bit about the bird – stuff I read from Wikipedia or from TV. Owls are birds.
Owl is often synonymous with intelligence as it dates back to the Ancient Greeks. Athena, goddess of wisdom, is often shown with an owl perching on her shoulder. It is most likely to do with the Ancient Greeks seeing the owls ability to hunt at night and mistaking it for intelligence. The fact of the matter is that owls are on the lesser scale of intelligence in birds.

Some facts about owls:
- There are around 200 different owl species.
- Owls are active at night (nocturnal).
- A group of owls is called a parliament.
- Most owls hunt insects, small mammals and other birds, while some others hunt fish.
- Owls can turn their heads as much as 270 degrees.
- Owls have powerful claws (called talons) which help them catch and kill prey.
- Owls are farsighted, meaning they can’t see things close to their eyes clearly.
- Owls are very quiet in flight compared to other birds of prey.
- The color of owl’s feathers helps them blend or camouflage themselves into their environment.
