My daughter has read somewhere about the cat species and asked me if I knew the differences between a cheetah and a leopard, and honestly I didn’t really know. She then became so excited to tell me what she’s learned about cats, cheetahs and leopards and how to tell them apart. Here you go – 30+ leopard and cheetah coloring sheets inspired by my little one’s question.
From what I know, cheetah have spots, while leopards have rosettes. The spot of a cheetah is a clear, single, black spot separated from the other spots on the body. A leopard has smaller irregular shaped spots that group together in circles to form rosettes. Now, that’s only about leopard and cheetah; we also have puma, jaguar, panther ….
Cheetah can run really fast. In fact, cheetah is the fastest land animal with the highest speed recorded around 68 to 75 mph (or 109 to 120 km/h).
